Are all polarized sunglasses equal in performance?
No. Not all polarized sunglasses are equal in terms of quality and performance. It has taken NuPolar technology decades in design and development to become the true and accepted global standard for polarized sunglass lenses.
Polarizing efficiency. This measures the lens’ level of polarization – that is, the amount of horizontal reflected light the lens blocks. NuPolar polarized lenses have a 99% polarization efficiency. In comparison, lesser quality and cheaper polarized lenes may only achieve 40% polarization efficiency.
Quality of the polarizing film and the process. Younger Optics – the manufacturer of NuPolar polarized lenses – is one of only a few companies in the world with film manufacturing capabilities. This results in unrivalled excellence in the areas of polarized film quality, film placement, colour stability, heat stability and advanced film adhesion.
Quality of lens material. Lens material is important when making a high quality polarized lens. Lenses made out 1.74 MR-174, 1.67 MR-10, 1.60 MR-8, 1.59 polycarbonate, 1.53 Trilogy Trivex or CR-39 (1.50) lens materials will result in a higher quality polarized lens.
